About A 90s Summer

A conduit from now to then. That is the whole idea.

Not a list of things you forgot. Not a slideshow of packaging. Pieces about the texture of an ordinary experience — the drive, the store, the afternoon — written so that for about four minutes you are back inside it.

Who it's for

People who were kids or teenagers before the phone was in everyone's pocket, and who will read something and immediately send it to one specific person they grew up with.

A note on the name

The name is a feeling, not a date range. Some of what we write about happened earlier than the nineties and some of it later. What holds it together is the register, not the year on the calendar.

How it pays for itself

Every piece is free. Some links are affiliate links, which we disclose plainly. And we make party and trivia kits, for the people who read one of these and decide to throw something.
